VINYL BUTTON
[3]
Toggles the JOGWHEEL modes in 1st (main) layer:
CDJ
mode -> Nudging (MIDI touch event blocked),
VINYL
mode -> CUE position (scratching) mode with
activated TOUCH recognition on complete metal knob
(typically mapped to ‘hold music on fingertips’). Button
can be customized to momentary mode (VINYL active
only as long user holds the button).
LEFT JOGWHEEL LED
(above VINYL button) indicates
current active mode: CDJ

/ VINYL
l
.
BANK BUTTON
[4]
Toggles between 2 BANKS, modifies notes of other
buttons. Combination with SHIFT supported, offering 4
layers in total ( SHIFT x 2 BANKS).
RIGHT JOGWHEEL LED
(above BANK button) indicates
active BANK 2 layer with BLUE
l
.
LEFT & RIGHT BOTTOM BUTTONS
[6,7]
Buttons free for any mapping purposes. Send different
messages on 4 layers (via SHIFT a/o BANK). Typically
mapped to CUE & PLAY (1st layer).
SHIFT BUTTON
[8]
Real SHIFT button, ‘real’ means: modifies the notes of
other controls so user can map additional features
easily in their DJ app. Press and hold button toggles
from NORMAL to SHIFT layer.
LEFT JOGWHEEL LED
(left below jogwheel) indicates
active SHIFT layer with BLUE

SL1200 PITCH FADER
[5]
Fader is typically mapped to MIDI 14bit TEMPO PITCH. Additional 7bit CC messages allow triggering
other MIDI actions too. Fader MIDI messages are same in all layer (independent SHIFT and BANK).
MID FADER LED
(on zero position) flashes RED
l
on each sent MIDI message, GREEN
l
indicates that
last sent MIDI value was ‘exact mid zero’ position. OFF
l
(despite movements) indicates activated
MSTO (MIDI Soft Takeover), fader waits until user catches the earlier DECK A-D fader position.
Dark Fader TT offers 2 options to trigger the exact mid (zero) position: User MOVING into ‘mid range’
(similar to the SL1200 mk2 models) or LOCKING via PITCH RESET feature (Holding SHIFT + DECK
simulates pitch reset knob on SL1200 mk3 models).
Behaviour of the fader is highly user-customizable (via Power-On Configuration Setup), user can define
favorite preferences for MID POSITION, MID SIZE RANGE, SENSITIVITY, MSTO on/off. PITCH RESET
(via SHIFT+DECK) can be disabled if user want to map the DECK knob to other MIDI actions
.
JOGWHEEL
[2]
Touch sensitivity and ball bearing mounted axis allow multi purposes. Jogwheel is typically mapped to
NUDGING and SEEKING/SCRATCHING on finger touch, Dark Fader TT jogwheel supports in addition
speedy actions (self spins via fast swipe gestures) and encoder simulations in other layers.
The VINYL and BANK buttons define the jogwheel mode. The complete metal knob becomes TOUCH
sensitive in VINYL mode, typically mapped to ‘hold music’ by finger tip. The finger detection works best
if you do not touch the jogwheel during Power-On (or when pushing the DECK button).
LEFT LED
(below jogwheel) toggles from VINYL RED
l
to WHITE
¡
when MIDI TOUCH note sent.
RIGHT LED
(below jogwheel) flashes on each sent HiRes MIDI message in main layer, GREEN
l
indicates CDJ messages, RED
l
indicates VINYL messages.
