Component designations

The components in circuit diagrams have a prefix and number, the
prefix describes the type of component, the number which compo-
nent.

Component list with component number, prefix and designation is
provided as an appendix after the circuit diagrams.

Prefix

Description

Converter from non-electric to electric signals or vice versa. Example: inductive sensor.

Binary element, delay unit, memory. Example: control unit.

Protective device. Example: fuse.

Alternator, power supply device. Example: battery.

Signal device. Example indicator light.

Relay, contactor.

Motor. Example: electric motor.

Measuring instrument, testing equipment. Example: operating hour gauge.

Resistor. Example: potentiometer.

Electric switch for control circuit, selector. Example: switch.

Outlet/socket, connecting device: Example: connection terminal

Electrically controlled mechanical device: Example: solenoid valve, hydraulic valve.
