ENGLISH

1. Delivery Package

The RSX Copy Stand consists of: the baseboard (60 x 50 cm/
23.6 x 19.7 in.), the guide column (1.20 m / 3.9 ft.) and the RTX copy
arm.

2. Assembly

Insert the guide column (3) in the column mount (2) with the two loca-
ting pins engaging in their locating bores provided at the lower end of
the column. Screw the attach bolt (4) into the large center bore and
tighten the bolt properly. Place the assembled copy stand on a plan
surface and adjust any instability by way of the adjustable feet. Check
for proper alignment at the spirit level (17) in the column mount.
Fasten the RTX copy arm to the mounting arm (5) as follows: Loosen
the locking screw (11), insert the mounting pin (60) of the copy arm
completely into the receiving bore (1) of the mounting arm and retighten
the locking screw (11).

3. Mounting of Camera

The copy arm is equipped with an interchangeable mounting thread
1/4" / 3/8" (55).
The camera can be fastened with its base facing towards the column
or away from it. To do this just mount the mounting thread (55) from
the other side of the camera mounting plate (56).
To move the camera laterally, loosen the screw (59). Then push the
mounting thread (55) in the slot (57) to the left or to the right.
To adjust and tilt the camera, the camera holder (58) can be rotated
90° up or down. To adjust, loosen the locking  screw (52). You can fix
a particular position of the camera holder permanently with the
arresting screw (53) by using the Allan key (54)  included.
The camera holder (58) is adjusted horizontally with the drive (50) by
way of a parallel guide after loosening the locking screw (51).
Remember to tighten the relevant locking screw after each adjustment.
To detach the camera arm, loosen the lock screw (11) and pull the
arm towards you.

4. Height Adjustment

Adjusting the height is done with a toothedbar rack by means of a
rotating grip (7) and a crank. The unit is equipped with additional
weight compensation (scroll spring).
The screw (10) is used to arrest the mounting arm (5) at a particular
height.

5. Maintenance and Care

All the moving parts are designed for use without regular main-
tenance.
If the height adjustment does not move smoothly after some time, it is
usually sufficient to apply a very thin film of vaseline to the column (a
piece of cloth is best for this). If this does not work, the height adju-
ster on the back of the holder arm can be loosened. Do this by even-
ly loosening the two bottom metal screws (8).
If the height adjustment works too easy in a way, that the loaded
camera moves downwards by itself or just by touching it unintentio-
nally, loosen the four plastic screws (6) and tighten the two lower
metal screws (8) evenly. Now tighten again the four plastic screws (6)
and subsequently rotate them anti-clockwise for a quarter turn. (The
plastic screws serve for guiding the camera arm holder and may not
affect its movement rate.)
To prevent the camera arm holder from "tipping over" (i.e. not being in a
right angle position towards the column), tighten the four plastic screws
(6) and subsequently rotate them anti-clockwise for a quarter turn.
Please make sure that the upper two metal screws (9) are always
tightened securely.
