12. Check the correct position of the split pin.

The split pin must be fully inserted so that it is trapped by its bow over the axis of the locking

lever (see 19).

13. Tighten the locking lever again after 30 miles.

The serrations in the adjustment joint will not disengage. The serrations are corroded togeth‐

er.
➤ Free the serrations by jerking the towbar horizontally and vertically.

6.4.3 Replacing the ball coupling with a towing eye

The towbar can be fitted with various towing eyes or ball couplings.

Precondition The machine is switched off.

The machine is disconnected from the towing vehicle and safely parked.

Reuse of self-locking nuts

The protection against loosening no longer exists.
➤ Use only new, self-locking nuts for the assembly.

➤ Determine which towing device is fitted to the machine.
