9.3.2 Emergency lowering
Z
The mast can be lowered manually if a fault occurs in the hydraulic system.
WARNING!
Lowering the mast can result in injuries
X
Instruct other people to move out of the hazardous area of the truck during
emergency lowering.
X
Never stand underneath a raised load handler.
X
Only operate the emergency lowering valve when standing next to the truck.
X
Emergency lowering of the mast cannot be applied when the load handler is in the
rack.
X
Report any defects immediately to your supervisor.
X
Tag out and decommission a faulty lift truck.
X
Only return the truck to service when you have identified and rectified the fault.
Procedure
• Apply the Emergency Disconnect
• Turn key switch to "0".
• Tilt the cab, see "Tilting the Cab"
on page 167.
• Loosen the red cap (209) on the
solenoid valve on the valve block
somewhat.
• Carefully loosen the nut (207) on
the emergency lowering valve
(208).
• The mast lowers slowly.
• Control the lowering speed with
the nut (207).
• When the mast and the load
handler have been lowered, torque
the nut (207) to 2.5 - 3.0 Nm.
Tighten the red cap (209) finger
tight again.
WARNING!
Only return the truck to service when you have identified and rectified the fault.
