9. Maintenance / servicing / disposal
9.1 Maintenance and servicing instructions
Before carrying out any maintenance or servicing work, switch off
the master switch and take steps to prevent the machine from being
switched on again accidentally.
Depending on the type of activity, several years training in the fields
of mechanical and electrical engineering are required in order to be
able to carry out the procedures described in this chapter. All per-
sons charged with work on the electrical system or inside the cont-
rol cubicle must be qualified electricians.
A knowledge of the general safety regulations and rules of conduct
is also essential (these are not referred to specifically in the follo-
wing).
If it is necessary to dismantle or deactivate safety or protective
devices in order to carry out maintenance and servicing work, they
must be completely re-assembled again and checked to ensure that
they are functioning correctly prior to resuming operation.
The mechanical design and the control systems of the machine must
not be modified in any way without the explicit consent of the manuf-
acturer. The owner shall bear sole responsibility for all conse-
quences.
Always observe the stipulated maintenance and servicing intervals.
This also applies to all optional equipment and to all intervals stated
in the documentation of other suppliers.
