– Housing Unit
All external surfaces should only be cleaned using warm water with a little washing up liquid applied
to a moist cloth avoiding excess water. Wipe the surface dry using a soft clean cloth
Do not allow water to penetrate the control panels as this could damage the electronics.
An E-Cloth should be used on all stainless steel, glass, plastic and chrome surfaces without the use
of water or chemicals.
Avoid the use of cleaning agent containing soda, acids chlorides or solvents.
Avoid the use of abrasive cleaners, abrasive sponges or any other product that may contain fine
particles as this will scratch the surface. Avoid using any cloths that may have been used with
cleaning materials previously.
Care and Maintenance
– Filters
A) Metal Grease Filters
These re-usable grease filters should be cleaned at least every 6 weeks to prevent the build-up of
grease. The grease filters should be cleaned immediately if the warning is illuminated.
It is dangerous to continue to use the appliance with the filter warning alarm. The grease filters can
either be washed by hand with a soft nylon brush and a mild solution of hot water and washing up
liquid or they can be placed in the dishwasher upright on a 60° program using mild detergent. Avoid
alkaline dishwasher detergents of pH greater than 7.
Let the filters dry fully before replacing them.
B) Carbon Filters
If the cooker is connected for re-circulation, a carbon filter must be fitted.
These can be purchased from your supplier or on www.jsi-uk.com. Product code YT971-1000-05
These carbon filters should be replaced when indicated on your cooker hood if it has a filter
replacement warning system or at least every 6 months on models without the filter replacement
warning.
Installation
All electrical work should be undertaken by a suitably qualified and competent person
in accordance with European, National and Local regulations.
Installations completed by unqualified persons could be dangerous and illegal and the
manufacturer cannot be held responsible for product damage or personal injury that
may arise from such installation.
Ensure that power is not supplied to the appliance until after the installation is completed and
checks have been made.
Connections to the mains supply must never
under any circumstances be made using an
extension lead.
The connection data is given on the rating plate on the appliance.
Connection of the appliance is made via a suitable isolating switch or a double poled fused
spur which complies with European, National and Local regulations and the on/off switch
should be accessible after the appliance has been installed and built in.
If the switch is not accessible after installation then a further means of disconnection must be
provided at all poles.
For the U.K. and Ireland, this appliance is suitable for connection to 230v single phase 50 Hz
supply
