Dispatch Resource Area
Moving icons to Dispatch:
Icons can be placed in the Dispatch Resource Area from either
the Resources Area or from the Net Area (if the icon is in a net)
Default to monitor:
An icon brought into the Dispatch Resource Area always starts out in
Monitor Only mode as indicated by the yellow border and one-sided arrow pointing at the
Dispatch Source. This means that the related system’s incoming audio will be heard by the
Dispatch Source, but Dispatch audio will not be sent to the system associated with the icon.
Entering two-way:
To set a Monitor Only icon to receive and retransmit Dispatch Audio,
select the right-click option “Two Way” or click on the arrow itself.
Leaving two-way:
To return a two-way icon in the Dispatch Area to one-way/monitor
operation, click on the arrow, or select the right-click option Monitor.
An icon is in the Dispatch Resource Area but not in a net:
Can be dragged and dropped
from the Resources Area into an existing net, or use the right click option “Put in Next Net.”
Removing an icon from the Dispatch Resource Area:
Either drag and drop it back to the
Resources Area, or use the right-click option “Terminate Dispatch.”
Audio between icons in Dispatch Area:
Icons in the Dispatch Resource Area do not receive
any audio from other icons in the Dispatch Area; they only communicate with the Dispatch
Source.
Concurrent Net and Dispatch placement:
Being placed in both the Dispatch Resource Area
and the Net Area does not affect operation in either area. Dispatch communications and Net
communications are separate operations, with this exception: when a resource is placed in
two-way communication with the dispatcher, it is effectively removed from net
communication and grayed out.
Removing icon from Dispatch to a net:
An icon that is in both the Dispatch Resource Area
and the Net Area can be removed from the Dispatch Area by dragging and dropping it back
in its original net. However, it is not possible to instead move it from the Dispatch Area to a
different net.
Collapsed Dispatch Area indicators:
When the Dispatch Area is collapsed, one or two
number(s) in a red and/or gold circle and a
symbol appear. The number lists how many
icons are in the Dispatch Area. This is particularly useful when no dispatch operations are
underway. Clicking on the symbol will re-expand the Dispatch Area.
Recording Dispatch audio:
If enabled, selecting a Recorder and recording the audio
communications in the Dispatch Area is available.
6.3.4
Net Area
Create a new net:
Right click on an icon and select “Place in new net,” or drag and drop the
icon into the open net.
Drag and drop icons into existing nets:
Right click operation is not possible as the proper
net must also be selected by the operator.
