Decree No. 2008-1231 article R131-2 dispenses with the
direct outside air intake since the device has its own air
supply for appliances waterproof.
5�5 SMOKE EVACUATION
The stove works with the combustion chamber under
negative pressure. It is essential to ensure that the tube
connection is waterproof.
Make sure that the flue is constructed according to the
regulation and that it is self-supporting in order to avoid
that it leans on the stove�
After choosing a suitable place for installation and taking
into account the rules listed in the paragraphs previous,
define the location of the exhaust duct fumes. The
connecting pipes can be used must include a marking CE
which defines according to the tests of its manufacturer,
possible use with solid fuel (reminder of DTU: Temperature
given by the stove manufacturer in the CE label plus 50 °
safety.) or in the Notice CSTB technique concerning the
installation of JØTUL stoves.
It is compulsory to have an insulated duct when this one
is located outside the dwelling and its height must exceed
the ridge by 40 cm in accordance with the decree of
1969. This duct must have nothing around in a radius 8
meters (Zone 1).
The stove connection must be as short as possible and
must not exceed 2(two) 90 ° elbows (1(one) 90 ° elbow =
2(two) 45 ° elbows).
It is necessary to provide a pipe at the bottom of the
first T at the smoke outlet, to allow the evacuation of the
condensation water which can form in the duct (fig� 5�5�3)�
Horizontal sections must be long maximum of 2-3 m
with an ascending slope of 3-5%. The flue connection
pipes must be at a regulatory distance from combustible
walls or non-combustible according to the DTU, namely
3 times the diameter if the wall is made of combustible
materials with a minimum of 375 m / m, and 1.5 times the
diameter if the wall is non-combustible with a minimum
of 200 m / m. The connection must be visible along its
entire route. The connection must not be made on a
used conduit by other devices (boilers, stoves, fireplaces,
etc.), or air extraction systems (hoods, vents, etc.). It is
forbidden to install valves or moderators draw.

It is strictly forbidden to connect a non-waterproof with
a terminal outlet in Zone 2 (crawling from the roof)
or zone 3 (facade). These poses are reserved only for
waterproof holders of a CSTB technical opinion as well
as the connection.
