13. Check the UniSAB III control system settings including calibration according to the UniSAB III
manual.
14. Check the direction of rotation of the compressor motor.
15. Check alignment of coupling.
Some HeatPAC units (HPC compressors) are equipped with flange motors. Alignment for these
units will normally not be necessary. However, the alignment must always be checked.
16. Carry out the pre-start check, see section , and run the compressor in 100% capacity.
17. Check the liquid level in the evaporator. Droplets should come out of the top of the plates. The
plates should
not
be covered by liquid. Check that the suction superheat is between 1.5 and 4°
K. If higher, carefully charge more R717.
18. Check the R717 liquid level again.
Note:
The liquid level must never be visible in the inspection glass.
* HeatPAC units may only be charged with PAO oils.

General information
To ensure the compressor and motor a long life and a low noise and vibration level, alignment of the heat
pump and coupling must be checked.
Misalignment of the compressor or coupling may result in stresses and vibrations, which can be trans-
mitted to the compressor and motor bearings and cause major damage.
Vibrations may be caused by the following:
•
Distortion between heat pump and foundation
•
Distortion between compressor and base frame
•
Distortion between motor and base frame
•
Incorrect alignment of coupling between compressor and motor
•
Tension from pipe connections between heat pump and plant
•
Imbalance in compressor and motor
•
Resonance in unit and coupling.
4.2.2
Sound and noise data
Consult the compressor manual for sound and noise data.
4.2.3
Foundation
To obtain the desired vibration damping, the concrete foundation must have the necessary bearing
strength and be as plane as possible. Always collect weight information of the heat pump before projec-
ting the concrete foundation.
4.2.4
Vibration dampers
The number of vibration dampers is adapted to each specific HeatPAC unit. For installation on solid con-
crete floor, anti-vibration machine feet are sufficient. Such machine feet are designed for minimum 70%
vertical isolation (100% capacity).
For installation on decks, special dampers are often required. Please consult a vibration expert or a
Johnson Controls Denmark representative for further information.
