SECTION 3 - PRE START-UP CHECkLIST

FORM 145.05-SU7 

ISSUE DATE: 10/31/2019

Accepting this indicates a PASS.

MANUALLY FORCING DIGITAL  

AND ANALOG OUTPUTS

You can force all Digital and Analog Outputs to each 

device except compressors. Compressors are locked to 

prevent accidental operation.

TO VERIFY ELECTRIC HEAT OPERATES 

CORRECTLY:

1.  Push the SERVICE key, go left to the DO section 

and down to find Supply Fan Output.

2.  Change Supply Fan Output to ON.
3.  Go to the AO section and down to find Supply Fan 

VFD Speed. (Not needed for Constant Volume)

4.  Change Supply Fan VFD Speed to 80%. (Not 

needed for Constant Volume). This turns on the 

Supply Fan to 80% speed.

5.  Under the DO section find Electric Heat Stage 1 

and turn ON. This turns the electric heater on for 

testing purposes. 

6.  Record amperage of the Stage 1 electric heater.
7.  To energize additional heaters, Stage 1 must stay 

ON.

8.  Energize the Stage 2 heater and record amperage.
9.  Stage 2 heater can be turned off, but Stage 1 must 

stay energized for additional heater testing.

10.  Stage 3 and 4 (if installed) can be turned on and 

tested and turned OFF.

11.  After all heaters are tested turn off Stage 1.

12.  Change the DO for the Supply Fan Output to OFF.
13.  Change the Supply Fan VFD Speed to 0.

TO VERIFY HEATING VALVE (STEAM OR HOT 

WATER) OPERATION:

1.  Verify in the PROGRAM key-HEATING that 

the valve type matches either DIRECT OR RE-

VERSE acting. 

2.  Push the SERVICE key, scroll left for the Analog 

Output section.

3.  Scroll down to find Heating Valve.
4.  Change to 100%. This opens the valve when DI-

RECT acting. When REVERSE acting this opens 

the valve.

5.  Change to 0%. This closes the valve closed DI-

RECT acting. When REVERSE acting this opens 

the valve.
