2.3 JNISCAB-3 NION Enclosure Installation

The JNISCAB-3 enclosure has a locking door and mounting hardware for the NION-16C48M
assembly (motherboard, terminal boards and network transceiver), UL listed power supply,
transformer and batteries. These must be ordered separately.

Follow the steps below to install the NION-16C48M and power supply into the JNISCAB-3
enclosure. This enclosure is provided with door and key lock.

Mounting the enclosure to its wall position

Step 1. Use the provided key to unlock the enclosure cover.
Step 2. Remove the enclosure cover.
Step 3. Mount the enclosure to the wall. Refer to the enclosure mounting hole layout below.
Step 4. Mount the power supply and transformer to the standoffs in the back of the cabinet using

the provided hardware.

Step 5. Mount the NION-16C48M motherboard to the mounting rails in the same manner.

Distances can vary between the NION and monitored equipment, but the maximum wire resistance
must not exceed 500 ohms. The type of hardware used is at the discretion of the installer but must
be in accordance with local code requirements. The NION is designed to be installed on a wall
within 20 feet of the panel in the same room.
