5.2.4b HT
conditioning
The HT conditioning is required before generating a high voltage.
1.
Display the “High Voltage Control” screen and give a check mark to “Detail”.
?
A complete “High Voltage Control” screen appears.
2.
Set the “HT status” to “Ready” on the “High Voltage Control” screen (
F
Sect.
4.4.6b) after setting “HT” to OFF.
3.
Ready a stable and solid step, mount on the step and set the conditioning
knob (
F
Figs. 4.6 and 5.10) to COND.
?
The “Cond Knob position” on the screen shows COND.
a.
Turn the knob fully clockwise.
b.
Push it toward the gun chamber until it stops.
c.
Turn it fully counterclockwise.
d.
Pull it until it stops.
e.
Turn it fully clockwise.
4.
Set the accelerating voltage to 100 kV with the UP/DOWN on the High
Voltage Control screen)
5.
Press the Manual conditioning-ON.
?
The accelerating voltage now increases to 120 kV the HT value on the “High
Voltage control” screen and “TEM Controller” screens leaves unchanged.
