11 – SHORT PERIOD USES
If the equipment is not used during a long period, carry out the following operations:
-
The equipment should be very thoroughly cleaned and placed in a clean and dry place.
- Entirely grease the parts described in the manual’s lubrication diagram.
- Coat the sensors and the connector bars of the electric system with grease so that they do
not oxidize.
- Release the tension of the conveyor (see chapter « horizontal conveyor »).
- Make sure that the unloading traps are at a halt (lowered).
- Grease the pistons.
- Cover the equipment with a tarpaulin.
10. Start-up and operation
1 – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Our equipment will give reliable and satisfactory service if used within their
normal limits.
2. The mixers with beaters are particularly adapted for mixing dry products and long
wisps.
2 – LOADING
1. Before loading, place the lower knives in the « tucked in body » position and close the
distribution door.
2. While stopped, engage the two-speed gearbox in « fast speed » position, using the gear
shift lever.
3. THE BEATER ROTATION MUST BE ACTIVATED BEFORE THE LOADING
BEGINS, WITH THE TRACTOR PTO.
4. Loading with a loader.
5. Long fibres will generally be loaded first in the machine as they need to be cut before
distribution.
6. Take account of the volume taken up by the products after mixing: for example, dry
forages take up much more space after shredding. Gradually add them in, so that the
container is not overloaded at the beginning of the mixing.
7. Load the equipment by carefully following this order:

Hay or straw, wrapped

Corn silage, grass silage

Beetroot, potatoes

