Establishing References

To get a meaningful measurement, the two leads or patch cords used for
the measurement have to be referenced. The references are valid for all
fibers that will be tested during the day with the same patch cords. If, at
anytime, the patchcords are disconnected from the test instruments and/
or have been contaminated by dirt or dust, the patchcords have to be re-
inspected and referencing stage has to be redone.
