7.6 Software update
The P18 MK2 Wash can be updated via a USB stick with micro-USB connection. To do this, copy
the file directly into the root directory of the USB stick. Then press and hold the right key below
the display, switch on the power of the P18 MK2 Wash, as soon as the message “Insert USB
stick” appears on the display release the key. Now plug in the USB stick on the back of the de-
vice below the signal connections and follow the instructions on the display. The P18 MK2 Wash
completes the software update with a reset. You will find the latest software on our homepage.
7.7 Testing of electrical equipment
According to the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) Regulation 3 / Regulation 4, electrical
systems and equipment must be subjected to regular inspections. The fixing screw of the DMX
5-pin socket can be used as measuring point for insulation and residual current measurement.
The screw is connected to all sheet metal parts via a contact washer.
7.5 Service and maintenance
On the P18 MK2 Wash, the zoom / focus guide rails and the rotating gobos should be checked
for sufficient lubrication at regular intervals - once a year. To do this, open the head cover (4x
camlocks with half a turn), the zoom cover (3 Phillips screws) see picture (4) and picture (5) and
remove the gobo insert (2 knurled screws).
Please note that the rotating gobos and the guide rails do not run dry; if necessary, the rotating
gobos must be oiled with a special syringe and the guide rails with a brush with our special sil-
icone oil.
After the gobos and the rails have been checked or oiled, reinsert the slot and close the zoom
cover again. After completing the work, replace the head cover on the headlight and test all the
functions of the headlight.
