ESCRIPTION
II.1 General Presentation
The RT8x1 acoustic recoverable transponders operate in the low frequency range (from 8
to 17.5 kHz) and integrate the M-FSK transponder function.
An RT8x1 assembly features:
•
An acoustic reception, control and transmission electronic assembly
•
An internal battery power supply
•
An acoustic interface made of a low frequency transducer in equal pressure integral
with the body of the transponder and fitted with a cage for mechanical protection
•
An UNS 32550 stainless steel type mechanical assembly with high mechanical
strength and high corrosion resistance for "Deep sea" applications consisting of a tight
caisson comprising:
 Cylindrical tube housing rated to 624 bar pressure
 An upper end cap that supports the transducer, with protection cage
 An internal structure that supports the electronic assembly
 A lower end cap with a screw opening system and a release mechanism
The following options are available:
•
External electric interface (RS232 serial link by default and RS422 as option) by
underwater mateable connector (RT861CS model only)
•
Responder mode by underwater mateable connector (RT861CS model only)
•
Titanium body when the equipment's weight is a major parameter or for extreme
corrosive environment condition
•
Remote transducer PET 661S, by separation of the integral transducer from the
transponder body (RT861CS-HD, RT861B1S-HD, RT861B2S-HD, RT861DS-HD)
