USB Interface
The APQ8096 supports two USB2.0 OTG and one USB3.0 OTG. In Snapdragon 820 SMARC SOM USB1 OTG is directly
connected to OTG pins of SMARC Edge connector which even can be used for debugging and flashing the CPU. USB2
and USB3 of APQ8096 CPU is connected to on SOM USB3.0 hub USB5744-I/2G from Microchip. USB Hub Feature
Controller IC with 4 USB 3.1 Gen 1 / USB 2.0 downstream ports. The upstream ports are connected to SMARC Edge
connector as well as Expansion connectors.

PCIe Interface
The APQ8096 supports three
PCI Express Specification, Revision 2.1
channels. In Snapdragon 820 SMARC SOM PCIe0 is
directly connected to PCIe to Wi-Fi Bridge and PCIe2 is directly connected PCIe to Gigabit Ethernet Bridge where as
PCLe1 is directly connected to SAMRC PCIe A Port pins along with other controlling signals. PCIe0 and PCIe2 channel
are also has an option to connected SMARC Edge connector provided Wi-Fi and Ethernet will not be supported.

HDMI Interface
APQ8096 CPU supports HDMI 2.0 audio/video out. Which includes Integrated HDMI Tx core and HDMI PHY, 1080p at
60 Hz refresh and 24-bit RGB colour, 4 K ×2 K at 60 fps + 4 K ×2 K at 30 fps HDMI, Up to eight-channel audio for 7.1
surround sound, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True-HD, and DTS-HD Master.

MIPI DSI Display Interface
The APQ8096 CPU supports up to two 4-lane Display interfaces, which supported MIPI_DSI standards and MIPI
Alliance Specification for Display Serial Interface D-PHY V1.2.The Snapdragon 820 SMARC SOM supports both Four
lane MIPI DSI via SMARC Edge connector.
