4.2 Connection of Piping
General
WARNING:
Risk of premature failure. Casing deformation can result in misalignment and contact with rotat-
ing parts, causing excess heat generation and sparks. Flange loads from the piping system,
including those from the thermal expansion of the piping, must not exceed the limits of the
pump.
Guidelines for piping are given in the “Hydraulic Institutes Standards” available from: Hydraulic
Institute, 30200 Detroit Road, Cleveland OH 44145-1967 and must be reviewed prior to pump
installation.

All piping must be supported independently of, and line up with the pump flanges.
