Application / Function
The ultego III eco heat meter is a measuring device for
physically correct recording of heat consumption. In Ger-
many and many other countries it is subject to statutory
mandatory calibration. The device consists of a volume
measuring section, two permanently connected tempera-
ture sensors and a calculator, which calculates heat con-
sumption from the volume and temperature difference. The
volume measuring section is a wear-free ultrasound mea-
suring device without mechanically moved parts. The long-
life battery has been designed for the whole period of the
calibration validity. The ultego III eco cannot be opened
without damaging the calibration seal. The meter may only
be operated within the conditions stated in the instructions
and on the nameplate.
Storage / Disposal
▪
Spent batteries have to be disposed of at suitable collec-
tion points!
Transport / reverse logistics
▪
You may only transport the ultego III eco in its original
packaging.
▪
The battery has generally to be removed before return-
ing the meter by air freight.
Safety information
Attention!
▪
The calculator is fixed onto a mounting plate. Therefore,
the heat meter must always be picked up and transport-
ed by the threaded connection and not the calculator.
▪
The unit may only be mounted by authorized expert per-
sonell!
▪
The devices may only be installed and deinstalled in de-
pressurized systems.
▪
To change a meter, shut-off devices must be installed
upstream and downstream of the meter.
▪
Only use the meter under operating conditions as de-
scribed on the nameplate, otherwise risks can occur and
the warranty expires.
▪
Breaking the security stamp voids both the warranty and
conformity or calibration.
▪
Observe the national calibration laws when changing
the batteries!
▪
Flash protection cannot be guaranteed. This must be
secured via the domestic installation.
▪
Observe the regulations for the application of heat me-
ters (see EN 1434, Part 6)! Cavitation in the system has
to be prevented!
▪
When installing the heat meter, make sure that over-
flows or water trickles are prevented.
▪
Observe the regulations for electronic installations!
Installation notices
▪
Calibration seals of the ultego III eco may not be dam-
aged or removed! Otherwise the warranty and calibra-
tion validity of the device will be void!
▪
All lines have to be laid at a minimum clearance of
300 mm to power or high-frequency cables.
▪
If several meters are installed in a unit, make sure that
the installation conditions are the same for all meters.
▪
Avoid any cavitation in the whole measurement range
using overpressure, i.e. minimum 1 bar up to q
p
and ap-
prox. 2 bar at overload q
s
(applies for approx. 80 °C).
