F3 AC/DC/DCL INSTRUCTIONS
OWNER'S MANUAL
The standard F3AC comes with the 115 VAC transformer. For 230 Volt input, replace the 115 VAC transformer with the optional 230
VAC transformer. 230 VAC transformers are marked "230". The output can be selected to operate either 24 VAC or 12 VDC
solenoids when the input power is AC. If the input power is either 12 VDC from a battery, diesel generator battery or by solar panel,
the output is selectable to operate either regular 12 VDC solenoids or two wire latching solenoids for solar applications. The output
terminal wiring is shown below:

With AC input power, wire the 24 VAC with the orange (ORG) lead in the middle terminal. The other two yellow (YEL) leads go to
the first and third terminals. With DC input, wire in the 12 VDC with positive on the first terminal and the negative on the second
as shown on the terminal label above. The third terminal is not used with DC input. It is marked NO CON (no connection) on the
terminal. Each solenoid has one lead attached to the common (C) terminal and the other to each of the 1, 2, or 3.
For the DCL version with the solar panel, be sure that the proper polarity is used when connecting the solar panel wires to the
terminal. They should match the battery leads. The latching solenoid leads must also be properly wired. In this model, the red or
positive lead from the latching solenoids go to the stations 1-3. The black lead goes to the common (C) terminal.
Note: The pressure differential input is on a separate two pin plug in connector.
The M output is the master valve that closes during the entire backwash cycle to maintain adequate water pressure for efficient
backwashing.
FRONT PANEL PROGRAMMING
Turn the POWER switch to ON. After a few seconds, the display will say POWER OK and display the station or IDLE (which means
it is not backwashing) and a 3 digit backwash count.
Select the PERIODIC backwash time by rotating to the desired setting.
Select the FLUSH DURATION. Select about 2 minutes for media, and 20 seconds as a starting point for screen and disk filter.
Select the DWELL time. This is the time it takes one valve to close before the next one opens.
To start a manual cycle, press the MANUAL START button for one second. Starting a manual backwash cycle resets the periodic
interval time.
