Installation, below.)
Note: The iPort video output is only active when the
iPod is in Slide Show mode.
Box Contents
• (1) Unbalanced Video Wallplate
• (1) Five-foot RJ-45 (male)-to-RCA (female) cable
• (1) Decora wallplate insert and screws
Installation
(See illustration below)
1. Find a location for the Video Wallplate that is near the video
monitor, but no more than 100 feet from the iPort.
2. Run a male-to-male RCA video cable (not included) through the
wall from the iPort location to the Wallplate. Plug the RCA cable
into the female connector on the rear of the Wallplate.
3. Install the Wallplate in the wall using a standard single- or
double-gang electrical box.
Important: Do NOT install the Video Wallplate in the same
electrical box as AC house wiring, a light switch or any other
high-voltage device or control. The Wallplate can share gang
boxes with an iPort Audio Wallplate, or with other controls
such as A/B speaker switches, infrared receivers and volume
controls, if these other devices are rated as Class 2 devices
according to the National Electrical Code.
4. Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the female RCA
connector on the included RJ-45-to-RCA cable.
5. Plug the RJ-45 connector into the iPort’s RJ-45 Video
Connection. If the iPort is already installed in the wall:
a.
Remove the iPort
face by pulling it
straight out of the
utility box.
b.
Using a manual
screwdriver, loosen
the RotoLock
®
screws to retract the
RotoLock clamps.
(See illustration,
right.)
c. Pull the top of the
utility box away from
the wall, then
remove the box, being careful not to disconnect any
cabling.
d. Connect the included RJ-45-to-Female RCA cable to the
iPort’s RJ-45 Video Connection.
6. Install the utility box and iPort face in the wall as per the
directions in the
iPort Instruction Manual.
7. Use a composite video cable to connect the Wallplate to the
video monitor.
