12. Raise or lower the lift to position the patient over the
stationary surface. Be sure to raise or lower the patient
enough to clear the sides of the stationary object.
13. Lower the patient onto the stationary surface.
14. Ensure the patient is fully supported by the surface to
which you are transferring.
15. Lock the rear casters.
16. Raise the bed to a good working height (usually hip
height of caregivers).
17. Detach the sling from the hanger bar.
18. Unlock the rear casters.
19. Move the lift away from the area.
