Repeatedly Inspect Alignment
before Cutting
To align the belt ends on Grooved Decks for
cutting or splicing, use the following guide-
lines.
Check Parallel Alignment:
Ensure the belt ends
are visibly parallel to the Cut Guides when first
placing belts and again just before splicing.
Check Perpendicular Alignment:
Use a square
edge to ensure each belt edge is perpendicular
to the Cut Guide when placing belts and again
just before splicing.

Hold the Cut Guides when
Fully Tightening Thumb Knobs
Hold the Cut Guides against the Belt Tabs,
while finger-tightening the thumb knobs evenly
at each belt edge.

Add the Second Cut Guide to
Secure Belt for Cutting
With the belt end properly aligned and tightly
secured, place the 8050 Cut Guide on the sec-
ond locked Grooved Deck. Hold the Cut Guide
against the Belt Tabs and hand-tighten the
thumb knobs.

Inspect Cuts for Squareness
When the cuts are complete, inspect each pre-
pared end for straight, square cuts. Hold it
against the straight Cut Guide and use a square
to check for 90° corners.
