Descriptions of Operation
a. Fiber Link LED
OFF = No fiber connection
GREEN = Fiber connection
b. Auto-negotiate LED OFF = Auto-negotiate off
GREEN = Auto - negotiate on
c. -
Default, recommended operation mode is auto - negotiate ON. When NOT using
auto - negotiate mode, a cross over cable must be used for the copper link segment.
Both ends of the copper link must be fixed at the same speed and duplex rating.
d. Auto - negotiate ON/OFF When auto - negotiate is ON, all capabilities for the
twisted pair interface are advertised including auto - mdi/mdi-x (auto detection for
straight cables vs. cross-over).
e. Speed Switch - Active only when auto - negotiate is OFF. The speed switch forces
the link setting to either 10 or 100.
f. Duplex Switch - active only when auto - negotiate is OFF. The duplex switch
forces the duplex rating to either full or half duplex.

h. Fiber Link Contact Connector - OPEN = No fiber OR Power Off
CLOSED = Fiber connected
i. 10 base - T/100 base - TX Connector - The LED in the upper LEFT corner indicates
copper link status. Link = Green
The LED in the upper RIGHT corner indicates copper link speed:
GREEN = 100 mbs
ORANGE = 10 mbs
