Updating the BIOS Using the F7 Function Key
To use t his BI OS updat e m et hod:
1. Dow nload and sav e t he Recov ery BI OS ( .BI O) file t o a t em porary direct ory .
2. Copy t he .BI O file t o a USB t hum b drive.
3. Plug t he t hum b drive int o a USB port of t he t arget com put er.
4. Shut dow n t he t arget com put er.
5. Enable t he F7 pr om pt display:
a. Pow er t he com put er on.
b. Ent er t he BI OS Set up by pr essing t he F2 key during boot .
c. Go t o t he Advanced > Boot Configurat ion m enu.
d. Enable Display F7 t o Updat e BI OS
e. Press t he F10 key t o save and exit .
6. During boot , w hen t he F7 prom pt is displayed, press t he F7 k ey t o ent er t he BI OS
Flash Updat e t ool.
7. Select t he USB t hum b drive and pr ess Ent er .
8. Select t he .BI O file and press Ent er
9. Confirm y ou w ant t o updat e t he BI OS by pr essing Ent er .
10. Wait 2- 5 m inut es for t he updat e t o com plet e.
11. Rem ove t he t hum b drive.
12. Rest art t he com put er.
Updating the BIOS with the Iflash Memory
Update Utility
You can use t he inform at ion in t his sect ion t o updat e t he BI OS using t he I flash
Mem ory Updat e Ut ilit y.
Obtaining the BIOS Update File
You can updat e t o a new version of t he BI OS by using t he I flash BI OS updat e file.
The I flash BI OS updat e file is a com pr essed file t hat cont ains t he files y ou need t o
updat e t he BI OS. The I flash BI OS updat e file cont ains:
