5.3 traceroute

Command

: traceroute <hostname> [maxhops <n>] [timeout <n>]

Function

: traces the route to a specified host.

View

: all views

Parameters

• hostname: specifies the IP address or domain name of the host to be tested.

• maxhops <n>: specifies the maximum number of hops allowed.

• timeout <n>: specifies the timeout period on each hop.

Example

• Enter:

traceroute www.baidu.com

A traceroute test is initiated to www.baidu.com, and the test result is displayed.

6. Configuration Commands

You can run the

configure terminal

command in the super user view to switch to the configuration view,

and run configuration commands in this view to manage the IG902. Some configuration commands support

both the

and

default

forms. The

form cancels the setting of a parameter, and the

default

form

restores the default setting of a parameter.
