DAILY PRE-OPERATIONAL SAFETY CHECKLIST
INSPECTION
AREA
INSPECTION CRITERIA
General
• Make sure that all parts are correctly installed.
• Make sure that all nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
• Replace missing, worn, or damaged items.
Decals
• Make sure all safety, regulatory, and marketing decals are correctly
installed.
• Clean the decals with a soft moist cloth.
• Replace missing, worn, or damaged decals.
Tires
• Examine for wear and damage.
• Replace worn or damaged tires.
• Inflate tires as necessary.
Battery
• Make sure that all battery hold-downs are tight.
• Make sure that the battery cables are correctly attached. Tighten as
necessary.
• Examine the battery posts for corrosion. If corrosion is found, remove the
corrosion.
• Replace missing, worn, or damaged items.
Engine Oil
• Examine the oil level. Add oil as necessary.
Engine Fuel
• Examine the fuel system for leakage.
• Examine the fuel level. Add fuel as necessary.
• Replace missing, worn, or damaged items.
Engine Air Filter
• Examine the air filter. Replace if dirty or damaged.

Inspection
• Do a vehicle performance inspection.
VEHICLE PERFORMANCE INSPECTION
Before the vehicle performance inspection:
• Read and obey all safety decals and information located on the vehicle.
• Understand how to operate the vehicle correctly and safely.
• Understand the function of all vehicle controls, indicators, displays, and gauges.
