repeat message copies. If the internal buffer overflows, a message repeat will be treated as a new
message.
1.33 OTA/OAP (Over-The-Air/Over-Air-Programming)
Messages
OTA/OAP messages are used to configure the pager remotely. These messages are silently received by
the X5 pager and are currently used to add or remove capcodes or enable or disable existing capcodes
on the pager by the network provider. The pager can also be locked or unlocked by an OTA/OAP
message, the profile can be switched and the pager's real time clock can be set via OTA/OAP
messages.
OTA messages are encoded in a special way and can be either alphanumeric or numeric. They do not
alert and should not normally be seen by the user. If they do appear an alpha numeric OTA message
may look like this: YXfedPoEVI and a numeric OTA message would appear like:

1.34 Reading Messages
When a message arrives and an alert appears, you have the option of immediately reading the message
or dismissing it for later reading.
To read the message, press the green MENU button. Once the green MENU button is pressed, you are
taken to the full message view of the respective folder of the message. For more information on the full
message view please see 1.13 Inbox Page.
Alternatively, to dismiss the alert, press the red CANCEL button. Pressing any of the buttons once
during an alert the alert sound and the vibrator will stop if enabled. The message can now be read in the
alert window by scrolling it up or down line by line with the UP or DOWN buttons.
