The Getting Started section of this manual explained how to create an
ActiveSync connection between your RuggedReader and your desktop
computer. This section describes these ActiveSync tasks:

• Reconnecting
• Exploring the RuggedReader from a desktop computer
• Transferring files to and from the RuggedReader

RE-ESTABLISHING A CONNECTION

To re-establish an ActiveSync connection, follow these steps:

1. If you plan to charge the RuggedReader while it is connected in

ActiveSync, plug the wall charger into the RuggedReader now.

2. Plug the USB Client end (mini B) of the USB

communications cable into your RuggedReader.

3. Plug the USB Host end (full size A) into your

desktop computer.

4. ActiveSync automatically detects the device.

 Microsoft

ActiveSync
version 4.1 or

later is required to connect
to the RuggedReader. This
is supplied on the Getting
Started CD. See installation
instructions in
