5.7 QUICK FAULT DIAGNOSIS FOR
PROFESSIONAL USE.
Fault detected Possible cause Diagnosis and solution
• No heating.
• No hot water.
No power to water heater: fuses, cables, etc. Check the power supply cables to the water heater
are live.
Heating element or cable out of service. Check if the water heater has a power supply
Open circuit: wiring badly connected
or cut.
Visual inspection of wiring connection.
• Water not hot enough.
Temperature setting too low.
Turn up temperature setting.
Refer to parameter menu.
Heating element or cable partially out of
service.
Check resistance of heating element on electrical wiring
connector, as well as the condition of the wiring loom.
Cold water backflow into hot water circuit.
Shut the cold water intake on the stop valve of the
safety unit.
Then open a valve in the hot water position. Wait 10
minutes.
If a flow appears, mark the faulty valve and/or check the
safety unit is in the right position (Parag. 1.3 and 3.3).
• Insufficient flow on hot water valve. Safety valve damaged or clogged. Replace safety unit.
• Continual water leak on safety unit when heat-
ing off.
System pressure too high
Check the water meter output pressure is no more than
5 bar, and if necessary install a pressure reducer set to 3
bar on the main water distribution supply.
• The auxiliary electric unit is not working.
Faulty electrical thermostat. Replace thermostat.
Heating element faulty Replace heating element.
• Condensate overflow.
Water heater level not adjusted properly Check your water heater is level.
Condensate overflow blocked.
Clean (Parag. 5.3).
Check that there is no siphon on the discharge pipe.
• Unpleasant smell.
No siphon present. Install a siphon
No water in the siphon. Fill the siphon.
• Fumes released from the bleed vent. Turn off power and call your installer.
• Failure of remote control or display problem.
Interference on remote control caused by
transient currents on mains
Reset water heater by turning off the power then turning
it on again.
• The heat pump is rarely operating, the auxiliary
electric unit is on almost permanently.
Ambient air temperature outside tolerance
range.
Wait until temperatures return to the specified ranges
(ensure the water heater is installed in a room > 20 m

Parag. 3.1).
Evaporator heavily clogged. Clean the evaporator (Parag. 5.3).
• The fan does not work. Fan heavily clogged. Clean the fan
• Loud boiling noise. Scale inside water heater Descale the water heater.
• The water-heater programmable timer is no
longer working.
Remote control batteries are flat or have
been removed.
Change remote control batteries and reset the program-
mable timer.
• Other malfunctions. Contact after-sales service for any other malfunction.
Attention: Do not connect the power supply
directly to the electrical resistor.
5.8 AFTER-SALE SUPPORT.
Only use original spare parts. Specify the exact
type of water heater and serial number for any
order.
Operations on electrical parts must be per-
formed by skilled and qualified personnel
pursuant to legislation in force.
If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced
by the after-sales service or similarly qualified
personnel, due to safety concerns.
Scope of application of the warranty.
5.9 SCOPE OF APPLICATION OF THE
WARRANTY.
The following faults are excluded from this
warranty:
• Abnormal environmental conditions :
- Various damage caused by impact or drop-
ping during handling after leaving the factory.
Placing the appliance in a place exposed to frost
or bad weather (damp, aggressive or poorly
ventilated environments).
- Use of water whose features do not comply
with those set forth by the regulations in force
on the matter.
- Water pressure above 5 bar.
- Electrical power with significant voltage
spikes (mains, lightning, etc.).
- Damage from undetectable problems caused
by choice of location (places difficult to ac-
cess) and that could have been avoided if the
appliance were repaired immediately.
