Part # 15050091 Rev. C
Perform a Maintenance Wash
A maintenance wash is required every 10 days.
After each sequencing run, an instrument wash is required. You have the option to perform
a maintenance wash or a water wash after a run. Illumina recommends a maintenance
wash after each run.
NOTE
Using HiSeq X Control Software v3.1, or later, a maintenance wash is recommended after
each run, but no longer required. Additionally, gasket replacement is no longer required
with every maintenance wash; instead replace gaskets before starting the required
maintenance wash every 10 days.
If the Load Gasket screen opens before a maintenance wash, replace the 8-port gaskets in
the front manifold and back manifold before proceeding to the wash.
The maintenance wash consists of 3 wash steps:
}
First water wash
—Flushes the system with laboratory-grade water.
}
NaOH wash
—Washes the system with NaOH.
}
Final water wash
—Flushes the system with laboratory-grade water to remove NaOH.
