5.2  Connecting to the U-Switch via Management Software 

5.2.1  Installing the Management Software 

The management software is available as a single executable program file (desktop) that does not require 
installation. The management software can be used to configure the U-Switch and to update the firmware 
of the U-Switch. 

 

Requirements 

If you want to use the management software with integrated Java Runtime on Windows operating systems, 
the following requirements must be fulfilled: 

Computer / Software / Network

Releasing Java Application in the Firewall 

If using the management software, the Java application (file javaw.exe) has to be released in the firewall 
settings to use the management software. Contact your administrator to configure the firewall settings 
accordingly. 
Using the management software with integrated Java Runtime, no firewall modification is necessary.
