OPERATION INSTRUCTION
PREPARATION
1) Check sensor
If have pollution and spray, please clean it. (The cleaning method see the chapter 8 Care and Clean
-
ing for detailed.) If the sensor’s lens is damaged, please stop using.
2) Check thermometer
When you press “Start” button, the system will have self testing of software and hardware. If there
are problems, LCD will display “ Err “ symbol. If found, please refer to the chapter Trouble-shooting.
3) In order to make the accurate measuring result, put the thermometer in the measurement environ-
ment for 30 minutes.
4) Unexpected fluctuations in ambient temperature may decrease the accuracy of the measurement
results. When the thermometer at the same measurement position display at different ambient
temperature, or measure temperature in front of the air conditioner, it will not be able to obtain
accurate results.
5) If you measure forehead temperature, clean forehead and arrange hair, make sure the forehead is
naked and clean, in order to ensure the accuracy of measurement.
BATTERY LOADING
The thermometer is supplied with two AAA batteries. Insert new batteries when the battery symbol
appears on the display. Open the battery compartment. Remove the batteries and replace with new
batteries, making sure the poles are in the right direction. Slide battery door back until it snaps in
place.
Notice:
• Please observe the related national laws of disposing the abandoned battery and don’t litter to the garbage
can.
• Please take out the batteries if the device is not used for long periods of time.
• Please don’t put the batteries in the fire.
To protect the environment, dispose of empty battery at your retail store or at appropriate collection sites
according to national or local regulations.
MODE CHOICE
Press “Start” button to turn on. Press “Mode” button to toggle between the three modes.
BODY TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
• Choose the Body temperature mode
• Aim the forehead, press “Start” button, the temperature is displayed immediately.
Take the measurement as shown:
To ensure accurate readings please refer to the guidelines below.
*When taking body temperatures, the optical focus should be aimed at the
center of the forehead and 1-3cm away from the forehead. Hold the thermometer in a vertical
position. Ensure the forehead is free from hair.
*If sweating has occurred, avoid taking forehead temperatures. In these circumstances, it is
recommended that temperatures are taken from the armpit.
*Take at least three readings and take an average.
*If the thermometer is taken from an extremely cold place to an extremely hot place or vice
versa, it is recommended to wait 30 minutes to ensure accurate measurements.
*Do not use under intensive sunlight.
*Wait 15 minutes after being outdoors in cold or hot weather before taking temperature
readings.
*If your baby is crying, wait for the crying to cease before taking a reading.
* If the environmental temperature varies significantly, place the thermometer in the room for
15-20 minutes before taking temperature.
* Do not expose the thermometer to direct sunlight, or place in wet or damp conditions for
prolonged periods.
SURFACE TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
• Choose the surface temperature mode
• Aim the objet surface, press “Start” button, the temperature
is displayed immediately.
ROOM TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
• Choose the room temperature mode
• Aim the room, press “Start” button, the temperature is displayed immediately.
MUTE / TURN ON THE SOUND
When thermometer is off, press “MEM/Sound” button to choose “OFF” or “ON” to mute or turn on
