2.7.2 Fintek F81216DG LPC Serial Port Chipset

The NANO-8522 has a Fintek F81216DG chipset onboard enables the addition of two

additional UART serial ports (COM3 and COM4). UART includes 16-byte send/receive

FIFO. The Fintek serial port chipset is interfaced to the Southbridge chipset through the

LPC bus.

Figure 2-12: Serial Port Chipset

Some of the features of the Fintek chipset are listed below:

Totally provides 4 UART (16550 asynchronous) ports

3 x Pure UART

1 x UART+IR

One Watch dog timer with WDTOUT# signal

The BIOS chipset has a licensed copy of AMI BIOS installed on the chipset.
