21.1 Method of operation
When the e-drive on your pedelec is switched on, the electric auxiliary motor provides
assistance while you are riding the pedelec. At speeds of 25 km/h and above, the electrical
pedal assistance switches off, leaving you to pedal with your own muscle power without
the assistance of the motor. The speed is measured by the speed sensor and spoke magnet
on the rear wheel.
The level of pedal assistance from the motor depends on how hard you are pedalling your-
self. When you are not pedalling, the e-drive will not provide any assistance
unless the "Pushing Aid" function is activated. When you activate the Pushing Aid function,
the motor helps you push the pedelec up to speeds of 6 km/h. The Pushing Aid function
may not be used to propel the pedelec when a cyclist is sitting on the pedelec, but only to
push it. Your pedelec must be held securely with both hands and the wheels must be in
contact with the ground.
