Distributed Clocks (DC)
“Distributed Clocks” (DC) refers to a logical network of synchronized, distributed local clocks in the
EtherCAT fieldbus system. By using distributed clocks, EtherCAT, the real-time Ethernet protocol, is
able to synchronize the time in all local bus devices within a very narrow tolerance rang. Further
