Installing and Using the Command Line Utility
Starting ARCCONF
To start ARCCONF on Windows, NetWare, and Linux, type one of
the following commands and press
Enter
:
where
install_dir
is the directory where ARCCONF is installed.
When ARCCONF starts, a console or DOS prompt appears.
Using ARCCONF
ARCCONF is interactive by default. In interactive mode, you type
commands at the command prompt. You will be immediately
notified by an error message if your command has failed. When
you run ARCCONF in batch mode, you run a script. At the end of
your batch file, you will either receive a zero return code indicating
SUCCESS, or a non-zero return code indicating FAILURE.
For a list of ARCCONF commands, type
ARCCONF
at the command
prompt.
The syntax conventions are as follows. The ARCCONF functions
are detailed in the remainder of this appendix:

Variables
are shown in italics.

Optional [COMMANDS] or [variables] are enclosed in brackets.

Repeatable parameters are enclosed in braces.
