3. I/O Configuration
The ET-87P2/4/8 automatically detects any installed I/O modules at power up.
Before communicating with the I/O module, we must first create the I/O configuration
to ET-87P2/4/8 for initiating the I/O modules.

The status of the I/O configuration
The LED displays can be used to indicate the status of the I/O configuration. By this
feature, you can detect the indicator position of the displayed element is shown
below.
For more information about the fault message of the I/O slots, please refer to “3.2.1.
Fault Message Display”
S (n) represents the slot number. (Slot 0 ~ Slot 7)
After Inserting the I/O module, the status of the I/O configuration will start flashing
until the I/O configuration is correctly written to ET-87P2/4/8.
If the I/O configuration fails, the status of the I/O configuration will always on.
