Important: The maximum power consumption from all supply voltages for a single
PCIe slot is the same as specified in PCI Local Bus Specification
Revision 2.3 for conventional slots (25 W).
To ensure that a ServeRAID-MR10i adapter or ServeRAID-BR10i adapter works
correctly in your UEFI-based server, make sure that the adapter firmware is at the
latest level.
Important: Some cluster solutions require specific code levels or coordinated code
updates. If the device is part of a cluster solution, verify that the latest
level of code is supported for the cluster solution before you update the
code.
The following section describes how to remove and replace PCIe adapters.

Removing an adapter from the I/O enclosure
To remove a PCIe adapter from the I/O enclosure, complete the following steps.

1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 123.
2. If the system-board tray is installed in a chassis, remove it (see “Removing the
system-board tray from a 2U chassis” on page 126).
3. Remove the I/O enclosure (see “Removing an expansion enclosure from a
system-board tray” on page 131).
4. Carefully set the I/O enclosure on a flat, static-protective surface.
5. Remove the PCIe adapter bay cover from the I/O enclosure and save it for
future use (see “Removing the PCIe adapter bay cover” on page 143).
6. Make a note of where cables are attached to the adapter; then, disconnect the
cables.
7. Pull the adapter out of the connector on the PCIe riser-card assembly.
8. If you are instructed to return the adapter, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
