POST error messages
The following table describes the POST error messages and suggested actions to
correct the detected problems.
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.

See Chapter 3, “Parts listing,” on page 59 to determine which components are customer replaceable units
(CRU) and which components are field replaceable units (FRU).
v
If an action step is preceded by “(Trained service technician only),” that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.

1. Reseat the following components, depending on the hardware
configuration:
v Hot-swap drive configurations:
a. Hard disk drive x
b. SAS/SATA PCIe adapter
v Simple-swap drive configurations:
a. Hard disk drive x
b. Hard disk drive x cable
2. Replace the following components one at a time, depending on the
hardware configuration, in the order shown, restarting the system-board
tray each time:

Hot-swap drive configurations:
a. Hard disk drive x
b. 2x2 2.5-inch hot-swap SAS backplane or 2.5-inch hot-swap drive
cage
c. SAS/SATA PCIe adapter
v Simple-swap drive configurations:
a. Hard disk drive x
b. Hard disk drive x cable
3. (Trained service technician only) Replace the system-board tray.
Stuck key Make sure that all keyboard keys operate freely.
Keyboard error
1. Reseat the keyboard.
2. Replace the keyboard.
3. (Trained service technician) Replace the system-board tray.
Keyboard controller error
1. Reseat the keyboard.
2. Replace the keyboard.
