Removing a four-bay hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly
To remove a four-bay hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly from the storage
enclosure, complete the following steps.

1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 71.
2. If the system-board tray is installed in a chassis, remove it (see “Removing the
system-board tray from a 2U chassis” on page 75).
3. Remove the storage enclosure from the system-board tray (see “Removing an
expansion enclosure from a system-board tray” on page 73).
4. Carefully set the storage enclosure on a flat, static-protective surface.
5. If hard disk drives are installed in the storage enclosure, make note of where
the drives are installed; then, remove them (see “Removing a 3.5-inch
simple-swap hard disk drive” on page 90).
6. Make a note of where the hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly cables
are attached; then, disconnect them.
7. Press inward on the hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly release
latches; then, lift the hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly off the
mounting tabs and out of the storage enclosure.
8. If you are instructed to return the hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly,
follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping
that are supplied to you.
