Appendix A. Changing the system date and time
Use these procedures to change the system's date, time and timezone settings.
About this task
Notes:
v
TS7650 Appliance customers have the option of performing this task using the
server command line interface (CLI) or the ProtecTIER Configuration Menu.
Instructions for both methods are provided below.
v
The menu is provided as a customer convenience. IBM service personnel are
expected to use the CLI.
v
The ProtecTIER Configuration Menu is not available on TS7650G gateway
systems.
v
In a two-node cluster, running the CLI command on one of the nodes will
configure the system's date, time and timezone on both nodes.

Procedure
1. If you are not already connected to a node, plug a USB keyboard and monitor
into the back of the server.
2. Log in to the server with the username root and password admin .
3. Access the /install directory by typing the command:
cd /opt/dtc/install/ <Enter>
4. Type the following command to begin the set clock configuration:
./ptconfig -setClock <Enter>
As the procedure runs, the following is displayed:
Date, Time, Timezone & Timeserver(s) configuration
==================================================
1. Set date & time
2. Set Timezone
3. Set Timeserver(s)
c. Commit changes and exit
q. Exit without committing changes

Type the date in the specified format and press <Enter>. If you do not enter a
date, the default will be the date that appears within the brackets.
