Removing Hot-Swap Power Supplies

To remove a power supply, do the following steps:
1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the chassis. A spring-loaded

interlock at the AC receptacle

prevents the power supply from being

removed unless the power cord has been removed.

3.

Remove the four screws

and store them in a safe place

.

4.

Grasp the handle

on the power supply; then, slide it out of the chassis.

CAUTION:
Never remove the cover on a power supply. Hazardous
voltage, current, and energy levels are present inside the
power supplies. There are no serviceable parts inside the
power supplies. If you suspect a problem with a power
supply, contact an IBM service technician.
