ServeRAID adapters and programs

Do not install a ServeRAID
™
adapter in PCI slot 1
ServeRAID Manager appears washed out and the graphics are not the
expected colors
Description: The spacing between the SCSI cable and the closed cover is very limited when
a ServeRAID adapter is installed in PCI slot 1. This situation can damage or ground the SCSI
signal cable when the cover is closed, which could result in SCSI or hard disk drive errors.
Note: When installing multiple ServeRAID adapters in a server that has the PCI-X slot
enabled for high scan (boot) priority, ensure that the ServeRAID adapter controlling
the startup (boot) drive is installed in a PCI slot that is scanned before the PCI slots
that contain the other ServeRAID adapters. For information about the PCI scan order,
see “PCI scan order” on page 22.
Solution: Do not install a ServeRAID adapter in PCI slot 1.

• ServeRAID-4Mx Ultra160 SCSI Controller, option part number 06P5736, FRU part
number 06P5737
Solution: There are two options:
• To clear the symptom for the current session only, minimize the application; then,
maximize the application.
• To clear the symptom permanently, set the color palette in the Windows
®
Display
Properties to 65536 colors or True Colors.
Note: This option depends on the video memory capacity, so it might not be available at
all display resolutions.
