RS/6000 and pSeries Systems Only
The following attachment configuration examples are valid only for RS/6000 or
pSeries host system connection.
Notes:
1.
The terminator and the SCSI bus cable can be connected to either the top or
bottom SCSI connector on the 7210 DVD-RAM Drive.
2.
When attaching the 7210 DVD-RAM Drive to the host system, use the
terminator that was shipped with the 7210 DVD-RAM Drive.
3.
Only one terminator is required to terminate the SCSI bus. You do not need to
use the terminator shipped with the 7210 DVD-RAM Drive if a terminator has
been previously installed.
Step 10. Connecting the Power Cables
To connect the power cables, do the following:
1.
DANGER
An electrical outlet that is not correctly wired could place hazardous
voltage on metal parts of the system or the products that attach to the
system. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the outlet is
correctly wired and grounded to prevent an electrical shock. (RSFTD201)
__ Plug the 7210 DVD-RAM Drive power cable into an electrical outlet.
2.
__ Plug the power cables for all external devices and the system unit into
electrical outlets.
3.
__ Turn on the power to all of the external devices.
