d. Remove the protective cover and connect the cable that is located near connector T2 on the PCIe3
cable adapter in the host system.

Remove the protective cover and connect the other end of the expansion drawer cable that is
located near connector T1 on the PCIe3 6-slot fanout module in the EMX0 PCIe3 expansion
drawer.
f. Remove the protective cover and connect the other end of the cable that is located near connector
T2
on the PCIe3 6-slot fanout module in the EMX0 PCIe3 expansion drawer.
16. If you have not already done so, route the cables for the PCIe adapters and expansion drawer cables
into the cable management bracket or cable management arm and attach correctly by using the
hook-and-loop fastener strips.
Notes:

If you have a cable management bracket, ensure that it is in the highest possible position so the
cables have plenty of clearance to move to the lowest position.

Connecting power cables and powering on the system and the EMX0 PCIe3
expansion drawer
Learn how to power on the system and the EMX0 PCIe3 expansion drawer.
To connect the power cables and power on the system and the EMX0 PCIe3 expansion drawer, complete
the following steps:
1.
Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap attached. If not, attach it now.
2. To connect the power cables for the EMX0 PCIe3 expansion drawer, complete the following steps:
a. Connect the power cables into the power source.
Important: Ensure that you plug the power cables into the power source before you connect them
into the power supply of the EMX0 PCIe3 expansion drawer.
b. Route the power cables through the s-carabiner so that the cables clear the PCIe3 6-slot fanout
module or modules. See Figure 20 on page 26.
