memory
allocation
In
the
DS8300
Model
9A2/9B2
each
processor
complex
has
four
processors
and
up
to
128
GB
memory
capacity.
There
is
also
a
default
50/50
percent
split
for
processor
and
memory
allocation.
The
split
can
be
re-configured
with
variable
LPAR
implementation.

Therefore,
every
LPAR
has
two
processors
and
every
storage
image
has
four
processors.
The
memory
limit
depends
on
the
total
amount
of
available
memory
in
the
whole
system.
The

a
result
of
the
strict
separation
of
the
two
images,
the

configuration
exists:

is
assigned
to
one
dedicated
RIO-G
loop;
if
an
image
is
offline,
its
RIO-G
loop
is
not
available.

All
I/O
enclosures
on
a
given
RIO-G
loop
are
dedicated
to
the
image
that
owns
the
RIO-G
loop.

Host
adapter
and
device
adapters

a
given
loop
are
dedicated
to
the
associated
image
that
owns
this
RIO-G
loop.

Storage
enclosures
and
storage
devices
behind
a
given
device
adapter
pair
are
dedicated

image

owns

RIO-G

Configuring
capacity
to
an
image
is
managed
through
the
placement
of
storage
enclosures
on
a
specific
DA
pair
that
is
dedicated
to
this
