2. After decoding the FID number from the flashing drive LEDs, go to “FID Entry Point” on

page START-12 for further isolation.

CE Verify Fix on Library Models

Note: To run the verify fix diagnostics on drive-only models, see “Verify Fix—Drive-Only Models” on

page PROC-9.

Verify fix for these library models requires selection of the Write/Read functional test through the Test
Drive option on the CE Verify Fix menu of the operator panel. See Figure 132 on page PANEL-30.

Selection of the Test Drive option automatically executes the POST diagnostic tests before the Write/Read
functional test is run. Some library tests are also part of the Test Drive option. Perform the following:

Note: Before you continue, take notice of the library mode that the machine is in because you will need

to return the machine to that mode when the call is complete. You can determine the mode by
selecting the Show Status screen on the Operator Mode menu.

1. At the library operator panel display, select Set Library Mode from the operator Options menu, then

select the number of the drive to be tested.

2. From the Set Mode menu, select Auto or Manual mode for the library. The library must be in Auto

mode to satisfy requests for specific cartridge mounts where the specified cartridge is placed in the
priority cell.

3. Press the Mode push button on the operator panel to select CE Mode.

Note: When the 3570 is in CE mode, the subsystem is offline to the host and is unavailable to the

host for read and write operations.

Figure 255 is displayed. Press the enter push button.

Select the number of the drive to be tested and press enter. The next screen will appear asking you to
confirm the request for a mode change. See Figure 123 on page PANEL-23 for details on each
option.

Press the Scroll Down push button until the arrow head (>) lines up with the Proceed option, then
