5. MAINTENANCE

5.1: Importance of Maintenance

Proper maintenance is important because it will ensure safe, eco-

nomical and trouble-free operation. It will also reduce air pollution.

Improper maintenance may cause the generator to malfunction and

can lead to serious injuries or death.

5.2: Maintenance Schedule

Shut off the engine before performing any maintenance.

When the engine is running, make sure the area is well

ventilated. The exhaust contains poisonous carbon

monoxide gas.

WARNING

NOTE: Some of these maintenance techniques can be dangerous

and should be performed by a qualified technician
